PainBase scrapes Reddit, Hacker News, Dev.to and Twitter/X continuously. Every post and comment is processed by an AI (Groq / Llama) to detect whether it expresses a genuine unsolved problem, then clustered with similar signals and stored in the database.
The AI scores each problem on three dimensions: Demand (how many people express the pain), Competition (how saturated existing solutions are), and Opportunity (the gap between demand and solution quality). A score above 70 means high unmet demand with weak competition.
The pipeline runs continuously and processes new posts every hour. Trend scores are recalculated weekly by comparing mention volume from the last 7 days against the previous 7-day period.
